Obituary


Joe graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery and The University of Alabama with a BS in Industrial Management. In his younger years, he worked for the Air National Guard as an aircraft mechanic and was activated during the Berlin crisis for two years. He then had a long career in Industrial Management and retired from Sloss Industries in 2002. Joe enjoyed many years playing golf and working at Oak Mountain State Park and Ballantrae Golf Courses. He was an avid hunter and loved being out in the woods. He adored his children...

In his younger years, he worked for the Air National Guard as an aircraft mechanic and was activated during the Berlin crisis for two years. He then had a long career in Industrial Management and retired from Sloss Industries in 2002. Joe enjoyed many years playing golf and working at Oak Mountain State Park and Ballantrae Golf Courses. He was an avid hunter and loved being out in the woods. He adored his children and grandchildren. He spent many days fishing with them and attending all of their activities. Most of all, he just loved spending quality time with them. He was blessed with many family members, poker friends and neighbors. Mr. Hall is preceded in death by his parents, Julius Fred and Ora Clarion Lee Hall; brother, Stanley Hall; nephew, Randy Small; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Emory Taylor, Bill and Jenny Taylor, Bill and Shirley Noble and Bobby Perry. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Gloria Taylor Hall; daughters, Suzi Weaver (Brett) and Pam Morton (Alex); sister, Lucy Small (Bruce); sister-in-law, Charlotte Hall; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Logan and Connor Weaver, and Hall, Hope and Hogan Morton; nephews and nieces, Mark Small (Melissa), Greg Hall (Pam), Wade Hall and Judy Baker; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Jim Taylor (Ruth), Patricia Evers (Joe), Janice Perry and Lana Jackson (Joe). Also left to cherish his memory are many other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation from 10am until 12pm on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with a 3pm burial at Sears Cemetery in Tuskegee. The celebration of Joe's life will be at 1pm on Friday, June 16, 2017 at Church of the Highlands - Grants Mill in the Chapel.
