Visitation will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 from 3-4 p.m. at Riverchase United Methodist Church in Hoover, followed by a memorial service honoring Chris's life at 4 p.m. in the sanctuary.

The son of Lewis Herman Crowder and Judith Ann (Clack) Crowder, Chris was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on August 5, 1971. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in the class of 1989 and was also an alumnus of Cameron University, where his studies in music and communications eventually lead to work as an on-air personality in radio.

Chris's decades-long career as a broadcaster and program director led him through Oklahoma, Texas, Georgia, the Cayman Islands, and Indiana before he eventually settled in Alabama. It was there that he met the love of his life, Melody, who would mother his two beautiful children.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Ann Crowder. He is survived by his wife, Melody Beasley Crowder; his two children, Mary Katherine Crowder and Clayton Lewis Crowder; one brother, Craig Crowder; and father, Lewis Crowder.
